My field placement for this semester was another success! I really enjoyed my placement! It is really helpful when you are placed witha great mentor teacher. My mentor teacher was very supportive and encouraging. That help this semester to be less stressful. If I was doing something that she didn’t agree with, she did not embarrass me. She would simply give a suggestion on how to correct it or tell how she would do it. Although the semester was not perfect, we were faced with several challenges. I was placed in different situations that I never imaged I would have to face. These challenges helped me grow stronger as a person and a teacher.
By the end of the semester, I had bounded with my students. My experience was a blast for me and from what I was told, it was for my students and mentor teacher, also. My last day was a exciting yet sad. Everyone was excited about my accomplishment, but sad to see me leave. As a teacher, one of my goals is leave an impression on a child’s life. When I was about to walk out of the door on my last day, one student ran to me gave me the biggest hug. As I moved, I realized the student would not let go. She just look at me and said, “Ms. Scott, why do you have to go? Please come back here to teach!! Because if you don’t, I’m really going to miss you!!” At that moment, I knew I had accomplished my goal!!
